The aim of the Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU) is to expand further as a centre of clinical trial excellence with an integrated research strategy and so to deliver major international health benefits.
The Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU) is a research unit working across both Imperial, Imperial College Healthcare NHS trust, with the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust and affiliated NHS trusts delivering world class clinical trials of all phases.
Activities encompass all aspects of all stages of clinical trials from generation to delivery. ICTU includes expertise in trial methodology and all aspects of delivery in key disease areas and works closely with the Joint Research Office of Imperial College London to ensure that the regulatory, legal and quality control aspects of trials are met.
ICTU represents an exciting evolution based on key areas of trial expertise and existing trial teams within Imperial College London, the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Foundation Trust and affiliated NHS Trusts.
The Co-Directors of ICTU are Prof Deborah Ashby and Prof Neil Poulter.
This unit receives National Institute for Health Research CTU Support Funding. This funding has been awarded to support the unit in developing and supporting NIHR trials.
