Osteoporosis

Biochemical assessment of the regulation of bone resorption is being undertaken.  Assays to study the relationships of osteoprotogerin to metabolic bone disease, such as osteoporosis, hyperparathyroidism and metabolic bone disease are being evaluated.  New treatments, such as bisphosphonates and parathyroid hormone for men with osteoporosis are being studied with the aid of biochemical bone markers.
