The Section of Acute Medicine is based at the Chelsea and Westminster site and is headed by Professor Derek Bell.

Acute Medicine

The focus of the research has two main strands. Firstly, in conjunction with other key departments within Imperial College to evaluate the impact of NHS organisational and patient process patterns on health care outcomes including patient safety.  Secondly, to evaluate new methods or treatments in Acute Medicine this will include developments of care bundles and refinement of early warning scoring systems.
