Dr Foster Intelligence logoDr Foster Intelligence are our commercial partners in work-stream 1 “embedding infection prevention within NHS organisational structures: innovation adoption and behavioural change”. 

Dr Foster Intelligence is a public-private partnership that aims to improve the quality and efficiency of health and social care through better use of information. It has particular expertise in developing and implementing innovative social marketing interventions to tackle health inequalities.  Dr Foster has worked with more than 50 Primary Care Trusts to tackle all the major public health issues including smoking, alcohol misuse, poor diet, lack of exercise, dental care and diabetes.

Oswin Baker and Eleanor Sibley from Dr Foster are working with research team consisting of Alison Holmes the work-stream lead, the Centre Pharmacist Esmita Charani and the Centre Implementation Nurse Rachel Edwards.  Banos Alexandrou previously of Dr Foster,  Liz Little and Dave Mullett from Dr Foster have also been occasional members of the team.  Following a review of the current literature on behavioural interventions and infection control and an audit of previous communications from the Imperial College Healthcare Trust, Dr Foster will undertake a thorough process of market segmentation, and will design a number of new information interventions for specific target groups.  Their effectiveness in producing marked and sustainable behavioural change will be assessed and the process of review, audit, design and implementation will be documents to provide a blue print for role out of similar work across the NHS.
