Kyriakos Hatzaras joined the National Centre for Infection Prevention and Management (CIPM) in the Faculty of Medicine in 2011. He is working with Prof. Alison Holmes on an NIHR/SDO-funded project which looks at ‘Evidence in Decision Making’. The study addresses questions such as: how managers make sense of evidence, the role evidence plays in management decision-making when adopting and implementing innovations in healthcare, and how wider contextual conditions and intra-organisational capacity influence research use and application by healthcare managers.
Background
Kyriakos has been working in healthcare management as a researcher and consultant at Imperial College since 2008. He was based at the Business School until March 2011, where he worked for the Healthcare Management Group.
His research on healthcare innovation includes studies in whole system change in service delivery and use of ICTs in biomedicine and personalised care. Previous experience includes technology and policy evaluation research, advisory and project management for international businesses and the EU. Kyriakos' research has been published by the European Commission, the OECD, the universities of Warwick and Tokyo, the Health and Care Infrastructure Research and Innovation Centre (HaCIRIC) and the World Council of Hellenes Abroad.
