Mark Reglinski 
is a PhD student in Work-stream 2: Network in Clinical Infection.  He is supervised by Dr Rob Edwards and Professsor Shiranee Sriskandan.

His project involves investigation into clinical manifestations of one of the following three pathogens; Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, or Clostridium difficile-

depending on which is most clinically important at the time. The studentship uses cutting edge research techniques such as proteomics, molecular microbiology, and transgenic technology to address the most pressing clinical questions relating to pathogen transmission, pathogenicity, and detection. Mark is an integral member of the Gram Positive Pathogenesis group and collaborates with other members of the work-stream and the Health Protection Agency, who are key collaborators in this work.

 Background

Mark joins the Centre following a Masters by research at the Centre for Infectious Disease, Edinburgh University.  Prior to that he completed his undergradate degree in Biological Science with Honours in Infectious Disease.
