Sid is an epidemiology and social science researcher working for the National Centre for Infection Prevention and Management (CIPM), Faculty of Medicine. He is currently working on a wide range of projects, namely, the Wellcome Trust and MRC funded – Mechanisms of Severe Acute Influenza Consortium (MOSAIC) project with Dr. Lydia Drumright and Dr. Laura Garcia Alvarez, a project aiming to understand the development, spread and pathogenicity of pandemic influenza (http://www1.imperial.ac.uk/medicine/about/institutes/centre_ the Antibiotic Dosing in Obesity Study (ADIOS) with Esmita Charani; the Imperial Antibiotic Prescribing Policy (IAPP) smartphone application development group.

 Sid is the lead for updating and synthesising the evidence base on Creating Health for Active Local Kids (CHALK), a project with Dr. Raheelah Ahmad, aimed at addressing childhood obesity via providing bespoke capacity building training and mentoring for those working with children and families across the public, private and third sector(http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/cpd/courses/subject/medical/chalk)

Sid is also conducting two systematic reviews within CIPM WS1 with Dr. Yiannis Kyratsis, Dr. Raheelah Ahmad and Eleanor Murray, investigating the organisational and system factors linked to the adoption and implementation of innovative strategies in infection prevention within healthcare organisations.

Sid also contributes to Medecins Sans Frontieres’ field research, having recently completed a systematic review with Nathan Ford, Medical coordinator for MSF’s International Campaign for Access to Essential Medicines and Wale Ajose, Access to Medicines Analyst for the Clinton Health Access Initiative, on the reported rates of virological failure among people with HIV/AIDS on second line therapy in resource limited settings.

He holds a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Warwick University, specialising in Epidemiology, and a Masters in Health Promotion, Social Science and Public Policy, from King's College London.  His previous posts have been as a public health educator in diabetes management and smoking cessation for several London PCTs’ public health projects.
