Susan is the Education Lead for the Centre for Infection Prevention and Management. She works closely with Professor Jon Friedland and Professor Alison Holmes as part of work-stream 4 “capacity building”. This work-stream is designed to provide a strong multi-disciplinary educational programme in infection prevention to help ensure a sustainable basis for infection prevention research, teaching and clinical care.
Susan is responsible for the development of a number of educational programmes in infection prevention. She will administer the existing MSc in Infection Management for Pharmacists while developing new education courses for Imperial College and the Health Protection Agency.
Background
Before her appointment with CIPM, Susan worked for the Cuschieri Skills Centre, a unit at Dundee University which runs short courses for surgeons and other health care professionals in Surgery. She then moved to NHS Education for Scotland where she ran the Foundation Programme for the East of Scotland Deanery. She holds an MSc in Applied Research Methods from Dundee University and a Masters in Public Health from Imperial College London.
