International Health Unit

The International Health Unit is intended to become an umbrella for all the international research and related topics based at the Hammersmith Campus. At present the main focus of the IHU relates to issues concerning the health problems in migrants including asylum seekers and refugees. The Unit is co-directed by Professor Jon Friedland and Dr Alison Holmes.   There is a particualr interest in issues related to infection including tuberculosis.  Although tuberculosis is an important problem in migrants, we do not believe that this should be tackled outside the more general health problems facing asylum seekers.
