Fungal pH response
Professor Ken Haynes has described the first hypervirulence gene in Candidia species, ACE2, and demonstrated that it has a critical role in cell separation. The group is now interested in the basic biology of this process. He collaborates across the fungal groups within Section of Microbiology in characterizing the fungal pH response and is integrating mathematical models into this analysis.
