Centre for Respiratory Infection Launch - June 2008

Imperial College was awarded a grant of £3.39m by the Wellcome Trust to fund a Centre for Respiratory Infection led by the Director, Professor Peter Openshaw.  The Centre's mission is "Research-led collaboration and innovation to counter the global toll of respiratory infection".  The Centre will integrate a network of skilled investigators in the field and provide an infrastructure to facilitate applications for future projects and programmes of research and to train the next generation of scientists and clinicians.  The Centre was officially launched on 2 June 2008 with a day of presentations by members of the Centre.
