Imperial College London is a science-based institution with a reputation for excellence in teaching and research.
The College has been awarded a substantial grant to establish a Centre for Integrative Mammalian Physiology and Pharmacology.
The aim of the CIMPP is to provide a focus within the College for the development of in vivo research and to provide postgraduate training in in vivo physiology and pharmacology so as to develop scientists with the necessary knowledge and skills to carry out cutting edge translational medical research.
The CIMPP brings together lead scientists in four strategic research areas:
- Cardiovascular/Respiratory
- Inflammation and Immunology
- Metabolism
- Neuroscience
Thus, the CIMPP provides the capability and expertise to
- deliver knowledge, skills and competency-based training in integrative mammalian physiology and pharmacology; and
- develop and deliver high quality research programmes
Accordingly, the CIMPP offers a world-class forum for ensuring continued training and sustainability in integrative mammalian biology.
