Dr Christophe Fraser and Dr Nick Grassly were both awarded Fellowships this year, and this brings the total number of URF recipients in the department to five.
The Royal Society’s University Research Fellowship scheme is funded through a parliamentary grant from the Office of Science and Technology and aims to provide outstanding scientists, who have the potential to become leaders in their field, with the opportunity to build an independent research career.
The Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology is part of the Division of Primary Care and Population Health Sciences and is located at the St Mary’s campus of Imperial College. It promotes interdisciplinary research in the epidemiology, population biology, evolution and control of infectious diseases.
