Mr Alex Almoudaris
Alex undertook his undergraduate medical training and a BSc in Surgery and Anaesthesia at Imperial College from 1998-2004. He completed his Basic Surgical Training in London and is currently a London Deanery General Surgical Registrar.
He Joined the Centre for Patient Safety and Service Quality (CPSSQ) to undertake a full time PhD having commenced in October 2009. His research aim is to identify and develop markers and potential metrics for defining High Performance in Surgery and is funded by a grant from the NIHR.
On-going interests and research themes include surgical complication management and developing Failure To Rescue metrics from routinely collected national data.
He is currently undertaking a study entitled High Performance in Surgery (HiPer) aiming to understand what factors influence and determine the quantative outcome metrics commonly reported when surgical units are compared.
