Mr Abdel-ilah Dekkak

Abdel-ilah Dekkak has been with the Respiratory Pharmacology Group at the National Heart and Lung Institute since 2003 when he joined as a research assistant.

Having previously worked for few years as an animal technician, his experience was initially useful carrying out the in vivo work the group undertakes.

His role grew to provide in vivo and in vitro support for the various PhD students and Post docs acquiring valuable experience across a wide range of techniques and specializing in the differential cell count.

His progress carried on to involve administrative work, optimizing experiment setups, and even engineering some of the equipment currently used. His ongoing contribution to the Respiratory Pharmacology Group slowly shaped him into an essential asset to the smooth operation and running of the lab.
