Mr Anthony A Laverty
I joined Imperial College London in November 2009 as a research assistant funded by CLAHRC (Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care) for Northwest London. My primary research interests are around the impact of choice and competition on quality in the NHS, provision of care for cardiovascular diseases and the evaluation of different quality improvement initiatives funded by CLAHRC. Alongside this work, I am also undertaking a PhD investigating the impact of the release of public performance information on patient flows in the English NHS.
I joined ICL from the Care Quality Commission where I worked on the analysis of data and policies to inform different aspects of the regulation of health and social care in England. I previously completed a BSc in Health Sciences at the University of York and an MSc at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine as well as a brief stint at Cancer Research UK evaluating evidence on cancer risk factors for the general public.
You can hear me on Radio 4 talking about some of my work here
