Dr Andrew E Messer
Andrew Messer is a Research Associate in the Contractile Proteins research group, National Heart and Lung Institute.
Dr Messer did his PhD in Cardiac Medicine in Professor Steven Marston’s Cardiovascular Science laboratory at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London working on the structural and functional polymorphisms of troponin in failing heart. He is currently working as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the same laboratory.
His current research project investigates measuring and manipulating the levels of phosphorylation of myofilament proteins. He has also developed a method in the laboratory to do this using phosphate-affinity SDS-PAGE (Phos-tags).
