Dr Anna V Donaldson
Dr Anna Donaldson is a Clinical Research Fellow at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London.
Dr Donaldson studied Medicine as an undergraduate at Imperial College. She completed an Intercalated BSc with first class honours and was awarded a Goldberg-Schachmann Memorial Fund award for her achievements. She graduated with Distinction in Surgery.
Dr Donaldson trained as a junior doctor at Charing Cross Hospital and undertook her general medical training on Guy’s and St Thomas’ Medical Rotation. She was awarded Membership to the Royal College of Physicians in 2006 and appointed as a Respiratory Specialist Registrar in the North West Thames London deanery in 2007.
Dr Donaldson is a Respiratory Biomedical Research Unit funded clinical fellow and is in her first year of studying towards a clinical PhD under the supervision of Professor Polkey, Dr William Man and Dr Paul Kemp. Her research focuses on the significance of myostatin protein and its associated signalling pathways in skeletal muscle weakness in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease with the aim of identifying therapeutic potential.
