Dr Byambajav Buyandelger

Byambajav Buyandelger completed her PhD in Molecular and Developmental Biology at the University of Goettingen, Germany in 2007. Her thesis and research project was under supervision of Prof.Dr Wolfgang Engel at the Institute of Human Genetics and focused on expression and functional analysis of genes involved in male infertility.

In 2008 she joined the group of Prof. Ralph Knöll, at that time located at the Heart Centre of the Georg August University in Göttingen, Germany and moved now with this group to Imperial College London.

Her current research focuses on the role of sarcomeric Z-disk proteins and for that purpose she generated a variety of different genetically altered mouse models with relevance for cardio-mechanosensation and heart failure.

Dr Buyandelger is a member of IBE Technology Networks at Imperial College London.
