Dr Christian F Beckmann
I am a Non-Clinical Senior Lecturer in MRI Methodology in the Clinical Neuroscience Department, Division of Neuroscience and Mental Health, Imperial College London.
I also hold a Senior Research Fellowship in the Analysis Group at the Oxford Centre for Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain (FMRIB Centre), Department of Clinical Neurology, University of Oxford.
Research interests:
- Analysis of NeuroImaging data; development of tools for general image and signal processing, visualisation and file-handling (available as part of the FMRIB Software Library (FSL))
- Multivariate Exploratory Linear and Optimised Decomposition into Independent Components (MELODIC), an implementation of a Probabilistic Independent Component Analysis model designed for the analysis of FMRI data.
- analysis of FMRI data with multivariate generative models
- exploratory data analysis, specifically Independent Component Analysis,
- multi-way generalisations to bilinear linear models (Parallel Factor Analysis and Tensor-ICA)
- group-GLM modelling and inference
- neural networks, data mining and statistical pattern recognition
- resting-state connectivity in the brain.
