Kit Huckvale
Background
I joined the Global eHealth Unit in 2008 and, after a couple of years working as a research fellow for a quality improvement project involving the local NHS, registered as a PhD student in 2010. I am funded by the NIHR CLAHRC in North West London.
My doctoral research will consider the scope for smartphone and other handheld device software (apps) in supporting the care of long-term conditions. I am currently involved in a number of systematic reviews that will appraise existing evidence in this area.
My project is supervised by Dr Josip Car, director of the Global eHealth Unit and Dr Julie Reed, Reseach Development Manager for the NIHR CLAHRC in North West London.
I am a qualified doctor and, in 2008, completed a MSc in informatics at the University of Edinburgh. Past work within the eHealth unit has focussed on developing evaluation strategies for various projects within the unit, including Telephone Consultation and tools to support Integrated Care Pathways.
About me
Outside of work I enjoy playing the piano, cycling and walking and am involved in set-design and build for DramSoc.
