Dr Camille Pelat

I have joined the Medical Research Council (MRC) Centre for Outbreak Analysis and Modelling in November 2010, as a research associate and I am also part of the Evolutionary Epidemiology research group led by Professor Christophe Fraser.

My research focuses on analysis and modelling of epidemiologic surveillance data for public health information. In particular, during my PhD thesis I developed statistical tools for the analysis of surveillance time series in public health practice and epidemiologic research (https://marne.u707.jussieu.fr/periodic/ ). One other focus of my PhD was the analysis of potentially interesting new data sources for infectious disease surveillance, such as medication sales or Internet search queries. This research mainly applied to influenza and gastroenteritis.

My research at Imperial College London involves individual-based models for more thorough analysis of such surveillance time series, applied to influenza and other pathogens.
