Miss Cheryl Lai
Cheryl Lai is a PhD student in the Immunity during Inflammation group, part of the Leukocyte Biology section in the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI).
Cheryl received a BSc degree in Biology with a Year in Industry/Research at Imperial College London in 2009. As part of this degree, she undertook a year in research in the Vascular Inflammation group, part of the Vascular Science section at the NHLI. Cheryl completed a Master’s degree in Immunology at Imperial College in 2010, during which she carried out her MSc project on the role of interleukin-17 during anti-viral signalling at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology.
In October 2010, Cheryl was awarded a Him Lee Studentship from the MRC & Asthma UK Centre in Allergic Mechanisms of Asthma with which she is studying for a PhD supervised by Prof Tracy Hussell.
Her current research focuses on the role of innate immune receptors during lung inflammation.
