Dr Damien Montamat - Sicotte

Dr Montamat-Sicotte is a research fellow with the TB Research Unit, National Heart and Lung Institute, studying the kinetics and function of CD1b-restricted T cells in tuberculosis patients.

After completing his BSc in biochemistry at the university of Montreal, Dr Montamat-Sicotte came to London to work for one year, as a research assistant under Prof. Callan at Imperial College, on the role of iNKTs in individuals infected with Epstein-barr virus. He then went on to start a PhD at Birmingham university under the supervision of Dr. Willcox and Dr. Lammas, on the role of CD1b in presenting exogenous lipid antigens.

After finishing in 2008, Dr. Montamat-Sicotte then came to work for Prof. Lalvani in the TB Research Unit in collaboration by Dr. Willcox under funding by the Wellcome Trust.
