Mr Daniel Reed
Daniel Reed is a PhD student at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London.
Daniel obtained his BSc. Honours degree in Pharmacology in 2009 from the University of Liverpool during which he was awarded the Syngenta Prize for Pharmacology.
As of 2009, Daniel holds an MRC funded studentship within the Faculty of Medicine and is carrying out his research with Prof. Jane A. Mitchell, Dr Mark Paul-Clark, Prof. Sian Harding and Dr Gabor Foldes at the National Heart Lung Institute.
His research focusses on the pharmacology and function of stem cell derived endothelial cells with partciular emphasis on vasoactive genes and pattern recognition receptors (PRRs).Studying these pathways will be important for the optimal use of stem cell derived endothelial cells in both research and in the clinical setting.
Daniel also holds positions on the Young Pharmacologists Committee and the Education and Training Committee at the British Pharmacological Society.
