Miss Georgina Apostoli
Georgina Apostoli is a PhD student at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. She works within the Platelet Biology group based at South Kensington.
Georgina has previously obtained a BSc in Pharmacology at the University of Leeds (2009) and has developed research skills and techniques during her MRes in Experimental Physiology and Drug Discovery, Imperial College London (2010).
During her studies Georgina has developed an interest in cardiovascular research, particularly in vascular pharmacology. Her PhD is investigating the role of nitric oxide in regulating platelet aggregation and whether this is controlled by the vascular endothelium. The research is funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC) and Center of Integrative Mammalian Pharmacology and Physiology (CIMPP).
