Miss Gurpreet Sehra
Gurpreet Sehra is a PhD student within the Airways Disease section at the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI).
Before commencing her PhD at Imperial College, Gurpreet had completed her B.Sc. in Biomedical and Applied Sciences (2006). Following the completion of her undergraduate study, Gurpreet continued to read a M.Sc. in Immunology at the University of Birmingham (2007).
In 2008, Gurpreet was awarded a studentship by the Medical Research Council to research into Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), for which she completed a Masters in Biomedical Research before conducting her PhD in 2009.
Her research interests involve investigating the effects of atmospheric pollution on alveolar macrophages and how this interaction is involved in COPD related exacerbations.
