Ms Jennifer Jones
Jenni leads the Master's, Postgraduate Diploma, Postgraduate Certificate and Short Course programmes in ‘Preventive Cardiology – Cardiovascular Health and Disease Prevention’ at Imperial College London. In addition to her academic role she works clinically as an Honorary Physiotherapist for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust where she supports the delivery of the Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation service at Charing Cross Hospital. Her clinical and managerial responsibilities extend as the Director of Physical Activity for the MyAction programme – a community-based family-centred integrated vascular health programme.
In her aim to improve the standards of care in the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease she has had a longstanding commitment to the British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) in a wide-range of educational programmes and is the Association’s current president. She is also a member of the ESC Scientific Programme Committee of the Council on Cardiovascular Nursing and Allied Professionals (CCNAP). She is a founder member of the BACPR-Exercise Professionals Group and the Past Chair of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Cardiac Rehabilitation (ACPICR).
She started at Imperial College in 2001 as the Physiotherapy Coordinator for the EUROACTION study. Previous to Imperial College she was a clinical specialist in cardiac rehabilitation at Harefield Hospital in Middlesex and a Lecturer in Physiotherapy at Brunel University. Jenni completed her MSc in 'Applied Human Science - Exercise and Health' at the University of Surrey. She is in the final stages of completing a PhD in physical activity in cardiovascular disease prevention.
