Dr Jacqueline Leslie
Jackie is a Health Economist and works at SCI, the Schistosomiasis Control Initiative, Imperial College providing economic support to national programmes in Sub Saharan Africa for Schistosomiasis and Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) control.
She joined SCI in January 2009 and has undertaken surveys and qualitative work in assessing the cost and cost effectiveness of vertical schistosmiasis and integrated NTD programmes and alternative delivery systems in Niger, Burkina Faso and Tanzania.
Jackie has a strong background in policy analysis; project and programme appraisal and planning; financial and economic modelling; and impact and evaluation . She has developed these skills over more than 20 years working on: the social and economic aspects of technology development for vector borne disease control; the strategic planning and appraisal of animal health services and livestock sector development, economic and financial modelling of water and sanitation and social impact and resettlement studies related to infrastructure change. .
She has worked in a East and West Africa and the SADC countries, in Central and South America and in Asia either based long term in country or undertaking research or support through short term inputs.
