Miss Jen Lee

Jen Lee is a PhD student in the Muscle Gene Expression group within Molecular Medicine section of the National Heart and Lung Institute (NHLI).

Before coming to Imperial, Jen studied Biochemistry at Bristol University.  In 2008, she was awarded a studentship funded by the Medical Research Council to study chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), with which she undertook the Masters in Biomedical Research in October 2008 followed by her PhD which she is started in October 2009.

Jen is interested in studying signalling pathways involved in muscle wasting in COPD. In particular she will be examining the role of the TGF-b and oxidative stress in atrophy.
