I joined the Global eHealth Unit in October 2011 as a Research Assistant. I am currently involved in the development of a number of systematic reviews.

I am a medic from Venezuela and since coming to the UK I have completed a BSc in Psychology at Goldsmiths College, University of London and a Master of Public Health (MPH) at Imperial College London. In the upcoming months I will start working towards a Certificate in Higher Education in Web Design Technologies at Birkbeck College, University of London.

For my MPH dissertation project I worked with the Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) for Northwest London looking at the association between social deprivation and referrals into the Westminster Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service. This project gave me the opportunity to demonstrate the practical uses of mapping techniques for service evaluation and quality improvement. In using these techniques, it was possible to identify those areas within Westminster where a general social marketing campaign launched by the Central and Northwest London (CNWL) NHS Trust was successful in increasing the number of referrals into the service. It also allowed for the identification of those sectors of the population that were not benefiting from this service. As a result of this, the CNWL Trust decided to translate their material into other languages in an attempt to increase referrals from this group.

My main interests include management of chronic conditions, mental health and learning disabilities and health promotion.
