Lambert Felix

Lambert Felix BPT MSc graduated with a master’s degree in Evidence Based Social Intervention from the University of Oxford in 2007. His first degree was in Physiotherapy which he gained from Fr. Muller’s Medical College, India. While working as a clinical Physiotherapist, he recognised the significance of the biopsychosocial model approach to interact with his patients. To improve his skills in psychosocial interventions, he undertook a certificate course in Rehabilitation Counselling from Tata Institute of Social Sciences. He completed his six week of placement at the Social Work Department at the All India Institute of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Mumbai. Here, he helped organise a Yoga workshop for people with disabilities.

In 2007, he joined the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine to work in updating a highly cited Cochrane systematic review in ‘Methods to improve response rate to postal questionnaire’. The update included strategies to improve response rate to electronic questionnaire as well. Since then, he has assisted in over five systematic reviews. He also conducted a factorial trial to assess the effectiveness of prenotification and pleading in improving the response rate in a web based survey. In 2009, he completed an online module in Ehealth organised by the University of Plymouth. From 2009, he is a tutor for a core module on ‘Reporting and Reviewing of Clinical Trials’ for the MSc Clinical Trials distance learning programme.

Since April 2009, he has been involved in projects related to Ehealth. He joined Imperial College in April 2011 as a research assistant in the Global Ehealth unit. His main interests lies in the application of Ehealth technologies in health promotion for primary prevention of disease (through adoption of healthy lifestyles such as dietary behaviour, physical activity uptake, smoking cessation, and alcohol abstinence) as well as self-management of long term conditions such as diabetes, COPD, Arthritis, Stroke. He aims to assess the effectiveness of Ehealth technologies through evidence synthesis and clinical trials.
