Mrs Megan S Grace

Megan Grace completed a Bachelor of Physical Education degree with honours at Otago University, NZ in 2003, and an MSc in Sport and Exercise Science at Massey University, NZ in 2005.  She continued on to work for Massey University as a Research and Lecturing Assistant until moving to the UK in late 2007.

Megan is currently a PhD student at Imperial College London in the Respiratory Pharmacology group, Pharmacology and Toxicology Section of the Respiratory Division at the National Heart and Lung Institute.

Her research is focused on identifying molecular targets of tussive agents in both the healthy and diseased state, and testing the efficacy of potential anti-tussive agents using pre-clinical models.

She was highly commended for the presentation of her poster entitled ‘The role of Transient Receptor Potentials Ankyrin 1 and Vanilloid 1 in tussive responses to Prostaglandin E2, Bradykinin and Low pH’ at the 2010 NHLI postgraduate research day.
