Mathumalar Loganathan

I am a doctoral researcher in the Department of Primary Care and Public Health, Imperial College, London. I am supervised by Professor Azeem Majeed, Professor Bryony Dean Franklin and Dr. Alex Bottle. My research focuses on assessing the quality of prescribing in the elderly particularly those living in care homes in the UK and providing recommendations to improve its quality of prescriptions. In particular, I am exploring various explicit and implicit indicators which are used to identify inappropriate prescribing. The objective of my study is to modify and adopt one of these indicators for use as a trigger tool to detect the prescribing of inappropriate drugs for older people.

I also have a keen interest in the evaluation of various technologies designed to improve quality of prescribing in the primary care setting. I wish to share my findings and work in collaboration with other researchers in the similar field of healthcare service who are moving towards the integration of quantitative and qualitative design methods.

I can be contacted at m.loganathan08@imperial.ac.uk if you have any queries.
