Mr Matthew Baxter

Matthew Baxter is a PhD student in the Respiratory Pharmacology group at the National Heart and Lung Institute.

He graduated from University of Southampton in 2008 with a 2:1 degree in Biomedical Science.

The same year, he was awarded a 1+3 studentship funded by the Medical Research Council to study chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) at Imperial College London, with which he undertook the Masters in Biomedical Research in October 2008, achieving merit, followed by his PhD which is started in October 2009.

His current research is directed towards determining the role of TRP receptors in the pathogenesis of COPD.

He is also looking forward to starting his third season with Imperial College Football Club.
