Mr Michael L Brown

I am an Apps Developer within the Global eHealth Unit, Department of Primary Care and Public Health.

After completing a BSc in Mathematics and Physics and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education at the University of Melbourne, Australia, I taught in secondary schools in London before moving into IT. Holding the professional qualification of Advanced IBM Application Developer I have most recently worked as a senior consultant for an IBM Business Partner and an application developer for a financial services professional body in the City of London, developing both web applications and business systems.

I have a MSc in Computer Science from Birkbeck College, University of London, where in my final project I developed a multi-lingual patient survey system for St George's Heathcare NHS Trust. The system included a web interface for deploying new surveys and translations and an extensible iPhone app with QRCode reader technology that delivers specific surveys directly to patients in their preferred language.

My current work within the eHealth unit focuses on the integration of mobile apps with clinical systems.
