Dr Olaf Beckonert

I joined the department of Biomolecular Medicine as a Spectroscopy Facility Manager in 2006, following a postdoc at Imperial College and further work experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

I am involved in the organisation, scheduling and supervision of the use of the Biomolecular Spectroscopy Facility with high-field NMR, flow-NMR, Magic Angle Spinning and hyphenated LC-NMR-MS technology on a day-to-day basis. I support with assistance in setup of experiments and in molecular structure elucidation of biomolecules. Furthermore, I am a safety coordinator for BMM and help with the organisation of work processes under Health and Safety aspects.

Besides the involvement in several projects my research interests follow two main schemes; The setup and testing of new NMR techniques and technologies, and the application of NMR spectroscopy and hyphenated techniques in biomedical research projects.
