Dr Paul J Mintz

Dr Mintz in collaboration with Professor Nagy Habib have directed a program in the field of stem cell research for clinical applications at Imperial College London, with facilities at Hammersmith Hospital. They have developed a new RNA targeting technology, in collaboration with a private biotechnology company and international academic institutions, which is used in the laboratory to manipulate stem cell differentiation for regenerative medicine, as well as cancers. Several unique RNA molecules are currently being exploited to target cancers (liver, prostate, and breast) and the differentiation of CD34+ stem cells into insulin-secreting cells for diabetes.
