Professor Peter F O'Hare

We aim to understand some of the fundamental virus-host interactions underpinning key stages in the herpesvirus life cycle, focusing on herpes simplex virus. We are particularly interested in mechanisms of gene regulation, and in the dissection of  the pathways and components involved in virus entry and exit.  We also exploit virus–host interactions to probe cellular processes in protein trafficking and modification,  secretory transport mechanisms and nuclear organisation.
