Mr Philip DM Leadbeater

Philip Leadbeater is a PhD student in Cardiothoracic Pharmacology, National Heart and Lung Institute.

Philip was awarded an NHLI Foundation Studentship in 2008 and is intercalating his PhD with the MBBS course at Imperial College London.  He started his research training in 2008 after completion of the NHLI Respiratory Sciences BSc course. On completion of his PhD, he will return to the medical school for his final 2 years of clinical studies.

He is currently investigating the expression and role of cyclooxygenase isoforms in the cardiothoracic system and, in collaboration with Prof. Tim Warner at the William Harvey Research Institute, the effects of anti-platelet therapy on thromboxane and ADP mediated pathways of platelet activation.
