Dr Boyle was appointed as NIHR Clinical Lecturer, and then Clinical Senior Lecturer in Paediatric Allergy at Imperial College London from 2007. Prior to this he trained in Paediatric Allergy and Immunology at the Royal Children's Hospital and Melbourne University, Australia where his PhD investigated the immune effects of probiotic bacteria used for preventing eczema.

He has been awarded over £1 million of research funding during his time at Imperial College London, and has been invited to speak at several international conferences.
