Dr. Rebecca Ghosh

I am a postdoctoral Research Associate in epidemiology for the Small Area Health Statistics Unit (SAHSU) at the MRC-HPA centre for Environment and Health, Imperial College London. I have worked at SAHSU since the completion of my PhD at Imperial College London which investigated the links between occupation and asthma in the British 1958 birth cohort study. 

 My principal research interests lie in environmental epidemiology and public health.  I am involved in a wide range of SAHSU studies investigating the health effects of environmental exposures, where her role includes project management, collation and analysis of health data and the preparation of results for publication. I also work on a number of projects ranging from the health effects of incinerators and bio-composting waste facilities, hospital admissions for CO poisoning and air pollution.

 My academic background lies within the field of environmental science having gained a BSc in Environmental Science and Development Studies from the University of Sussex (2004) and a Masters in Public Health (with a focus on Environment and Health) from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (2007).

 I have been an active member of the MRC-HPA Centre for Environment and Health Researchers’ Society Committee since its formation and became the co-chair with Rachel Smith in 2012.
