Dr Sarah Blagden

Dr Sarah Blagden is a medical oncology consultant based at Hammersmith Hospital and a member of the Royal College of Physicians. She completed her medical training at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1994, undertook her specialist oncology training at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, and completed a CRUK PhD Fellowship at Cambridge University in 2004. She worked in the Cancer Drug Development (Phase I) unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital and was appointed as Senior Lecturer to Imperial College in June 2006. She is now Clinical Lead for Gynaecological Oncology, with a special interest in managing ovarian cancer. She oversees the Cancer Trials Team at Hammersmith Hospital and is director of the Hammersmith Early Cancer Trials (Phase I) Unit. In addition, Sarah is Academic Training Director for Oncology, is involved in undergraduate and post-graduate education and is a member of the Specialist Training Committee (STC) in London. Sarah's laboratory research focuses on genes involved in mRNA translation and their dysregulation in cancer. Her research team is based in the Institute of Reproductive and Developmental Biology (IRDB), Hammersmith Campus.
