CIMPP Seminars and Workshops
We run a monthly seminar programme, during the academic year, inviting both internal and external speakers to talk about their research with particular emphasis on their in vivo work. We also invite speakers from other organisations whose work is relevant to other aspects of a scientist’s career, such as public engagement.
The seminars are organised by Dr Felicity Gavins and Elaine Snell.
The CIMPP seminars are followed by an informal drinks reception and are held at either the South Kensington or Hammersmith Campus. Attendance to the seminars is by invitation only.
Registration (both College and non-College)
- Please contact Elaine Snell
Please note: attendance by non-College staff/students is subject to availability.
CIMPP Christmas Event
December 12, 2011
16.00, East Side Bar, South Kensington Campus
Special guest speaker Mark Stevenson
Author of An Optimist's Tour of the Future
Mark’s voyage of discovery took him to Oxford to meet Transhumanists (they intend to live forever), to Boston where he confronted a robot with mood swings, to an underwater cabinet meeting in the Indian Ocean, and Australia to question the Outback’s smartest farmer. He clambered around space planes in the Mojave desert, got to grips with the potential of nanotechnology, delved deep into the possibilities of biotech, saw an energy renaissance on a printer, a revolution in communications, had his genome profiled, glimpsed the next stage of human evolution.......
Drinks, food and chat afterwards.
