One-day update in Thrombosis and Haemostasis for consultants and advanced SpRs

Will be held at Hammersmith Hospital on Tuesday 11 September 2012

This course, organized by Professor Mike Laffan, aims to update Consultants and other career-grade Haematologists in the field of Thrombosis and Haemostasis and also to help experienced SpRs to prepare for RCPath exams. It will include lectures and problem solving exercises. 100 places

Cost is £115 Registration starts at 9.30 a.m. and the course starts at 10.00 a.m.

Note: this course will run simultaneously with the second day of the St Mary’s courses

The St Mary's One-Day Course in Laboratory Aspects of Haemoglobinopathy Diagnosis

Will be held at Hammersmith Hospital on Monday 10 September 2012

This course which includes lectures, microscopy and interpretation of haemoglobin electrophoretic strips and HPLC plots, is suitable for consultants and other career grade post holders in haematology, trainees in haematology and BMS with some previous experience in the field.  50 places, CPD approved (7 credits).  The cost is £110 including a light lunch (£100 if CD is not required). The St Mary's One-Day Morphology update for Biomedical Scientists and 1st Year SpRs

Will be held at Hammersmith Hospital on Tuesday 11September 2012

This course, which includes lectures and microscopy (mainly blood films), is suitable for experienced BMSs, and haematology trainees in the first year of their training.  50 places. The cost is £110 (including a light lunch and CD) (if CD not needed, e.g. because 2 people attending from one department, please deduct £10) CPD approval requested from IBMS. Registration and slide viewing start 9.15 a.m., first lecture 10.00 a.m., finishes 5.30 p.m.

The St Mary's Two-day course in Advanced Haematology Morphology (NOTE: this course is not suitable for BMSs)

Will be held at Hammersmith Hospital on Wednesday 12 & Thursday 13 September 2012

This course is appropriate for consultant haematologists, staff grade haematologists and advanced trainees in haematology. CPD approved (13 credits). Cost £230 (or £220 if CD not needed)   Lecturers: Prof B J Bain, Dr S. H. Abdalla, Dr Sasha Marks, Dr M Layton. 40 places only Registration and microscopy start 9.15 a.m., first lecture 10.15 a.m., course finishes 5.30. p.m. Thursday.

The St Mary's One-Day Course in Histopathology of the Bone Marrow - 20th anniversary course

Will be held at Hammersmith Hospital on Friday, 14 September 2012

This course, which includes both lectures and work at individual microscopes, is suitable for consultants and other career grade post holders in haematology and histopathology and is also valuable for trainees in these disciplines.  50 places.  CPD approved (7 credits).  The cost is £120 including a light lunch (or £110 if CD not needed). Registration/microscopy start 9.00 a.m., first lecture 9.30 a.m., course finishes 6.00 p.m.

Places are only allocated when payment has been received.  Early booking for the 2-day course is advised as it is often booked out. Please note that because of catering and course material expenses, cancellations received within two weeks of the course date will not receive a refund.

Those who do cancel after that time may make their own arrangements for a replacement to attend. If cancellations are received more than 14 days before the course, a refund will be given after deduction of a handling charge.
