CIMPP Annual Symposium
The newly established Centre for Integrative Mammalian Physiology & Pharmacology at Imperial was launched with a National Symposium on 27 September 2007 which was hosted by Professor Julia Buckingham, the Chairman of Centre.
The Symposium, which was attended by approximately 200 people, was opened by Dr Richard Dyer, Chief Executive Officer of the Biosciences Federation. Speakers and attendees included leading scientists from Imperial and other insitutions, as well as Executives from the Research Councils, British Pharmalogical Society, the Physiological Society and the pharmaceutical industry.
The Symposium provided also the opportunity for the presentation of about 50 research projects as posters. The best three posters were awarded prizes which were presented by Professor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz, Deputy Rector Imperial.
The Symposium was a great success and the work of the Centre was strongly praised by both internal and external colleagues.
