Proteomic analysis of activated T cells

In collaboration with the Professor Jeremy Saklatvala and Dr RobinWait, we have developed a method for profiling the expression of integral transmembrane proteins expressed at the cell surface of activated T cells.  This involves a membrane tagging and affinity purification step prior to isoelectric focussing in liquid phase and resolution of complex protein mixtures by electrophoresis.  This approach is being used to identify receptor ligand signalling complexes which play a role in cell contact dependent effector responses in chronically activated T cells
