PhD Funding
There are various funding opportunities available for students wishing to pursue postgraduate studies in the School of Public Health.
These include opportunities for students wishing to pursue 3 year or 1+3 year PhD programmes in areas of Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Chronic Disease Epidemiology, Primary Care and Health Services Research and Health Informatics.
Details of funding currently available is given below:
School of Public Health - 3/1+3 PhD Studentships (Home/EU)
The School provides funding for PhD studentships on an annual basis. The studentships include full payment of Home/EU fees and an stipend of £15,500 p.a. The competition for take up of awards in October 2006 is now closed.
BBSRC - 1+3 PhD Studentship (Home/EU)
The Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology offers one 1+3 year BBSRC studentship per calendar year.
The competition for October 2006 has now closed. Information about entry in October 2007 for candidates who wish to undertake projects in the BBSRC priority areas that are of relevance to the Department, namely ' Interactions of animals and their primary hosts, mechanisms of biological systems and Bioinformatics, e-Science and related topics in theoretical biology' will be available later in the year.

MRC Studentships (Home/EU)
MRC Doctoral Account Studentships are advertised annually by the Faculty of Medicine in January.
The competition for take up of awards in October 2010 has now closed.
