Process for new e-learning developments

The Faculty of Medicine E-learning Implementation Group (FoM-ELIG) is the committee dedicated to developing an e-Learning stategy for the Faculty of Medicine.
The committee meets formally once a term (with the option
of not holding a meeting during the summer term), and represents the Faculty of Medicine on the College eLearning Strategy Committee.
Terms of Reference
In order to maintain the Faculty of Medicine reputation for teaching excellence and in order to attract the best students and to produce the best doctors, the Faculty needs to remain at the forefront of educational provision and draw on appropriate innovative teaching and learning methods and technologies. The Faculty e-Learning strategy aims to support these aims following the College e-Learning Strategy (eLSC) as its framework, along with the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) e-Learning strategies.
Reporting to the Education Committee, the E-Learning Implementation Group is responsible for considering and advising on all aspects of the planning, development and implementation of an e-Learning strategy for undergraduate curricula.
- To define and develop a strategy on e-Learning and set the priorities.
- To prioritise areas for creating new e-Learning opportunities.
- To develop proposals for submission to College or other external bodies for e-Learning funding and other e-Learning initiatives that becomes available.
- To prioritise e-Learning funding and budget issues.
- To drive e-Learning innovation within the undergraduate medical curriculum.
- To evaluate, develop and approve e-Learning business models or income revenue streams.
- To act as a gatekeeper for the work of the e-Learning Team.
