The Faculty's undergraduate medical course, in common with other UK medical schools, follows the recommendations of the General Medical Council in Tomorrow’s Doctors (2009). The structure of the course is fully integrated, exchanging the traditional two-year pre-clinical course followed by a three-year clinical apprenticeship for a course in which all information is learned in a clinical context and related directly to clinical experience.

The course also has additional distinctive features:

  • six-year course
  • students will graduate with both an MBBS and a BSc degree
  • combines the best of the existing courses at Charing Cross and Westminster and St Mary’s, with more emphasis on communication skills, medical ethics and law, and information technology
